seasonable
i think that's appropriate. This morning it was 27 as I left for work. Sounds cold, but it is I believe rather normal for late September. It actually felt nice, esp. compared to the teens we were waking up to the past few days in wake of the big snowstorm that briefly buried Breck. I am not crazy about it closing down the singletrack for a bit, but it is great for business. I think most snow around town is gone, and with a little luck from mother nature, I may be able to hop back on the lower flume this Sunday. There is just sunshine and 50s in the forecast for the next several days. I'd like to think the lower trails will melt out and give me one last great memory before we get buried for the season. No specific training lately, but it sure felt good to hop on the bike 3 days in a row. Saturday's test in Boulder will be the real deal. I'd have to expect a decent sized field, b/c it is Boulder. But a top 1/4 result would be nice.

more pics from moab
moab
went out to Moab for Helen's 50-mile race. it was cancelled due to deep snows up in the LaSals, since the aid stations couldn't be staffed, but she ended up doing a good run with a fast group. we rented a nice place with some other friends, who also each had baby girls. it was a fun weekend of relaxing. though Friday was cool and rainy, the weekend weather was nice. it was especially nice knowing that there was a lot of snow back in Breck. the ski area reported 27" of snow over the last few days.

last day on Union Mill
today we closed on the house, so yesterday was our last day in the house. it was a chilly start to the day, about 21 and a bit of snow in the shaded areas. but it was clear and sunny, and the aspens were peaking too. We basically cleaned from 9a-7p to finish up. Last Thursday, we got a shot of Montana in her fence for the last time. She didn't seem to know that she wouldn't be in a fence again for some time. Oh well. She'll be back with us before long. and then one last photo of all of us in the house just before we left it for the last time.
