we are busy as heck at work, which is great news if I am going to get into our next home. The firecracker went pretty well, 5th place doesn't sound too bad. I was shooting for a 4:20 or less, and I did a 4:26, so it could have been worse. Starting with our hail storm on Monday, we've had rain just about every day since, except for the 4th, which was fantastic.
As I was driving down Main Street (yes we live in Mayberry, or Pleasantville), I noticed a couple of teenage kids rallying down the sidewalks on their mountain bikes. They were quite reckless, pedaling by busy Main St storefronts, passing parked cars that could present a suddenly opened door...laughing and screaming the whole time like the kids they are. It was pretty cool to see. Brought back memories from when I was a kid with hardly a care in the world, just living each day for that day. Things are much different now of course. I have a pretty good load of responsibility, but I'd have it no other way.
Alina is doing well. Helen got a call from school today. Apparently Alina took a spill today. She was trying to walk (b/c all of the 'big kids' in her class are about walking now), and took a fall onto the table, then bounce off the table and landed square on the floor. Guess she got a bit of a bloody nose, but seems quite fine now. I am sure this will be the first of many spills for that active little girl. Speaking of whom, I need to post some more pics on here, as I've been slacking in that department lately.
